Grocery Price Comparison - Costco vs Publix vs Walmart

So I am sure you have heard in the news about the price of food going up. And if you have grocery shopped lately you will know that this is so true. So what are you to do? I am an avid Costco shopper. Love that place. So I decided to see if I really was saving any money by shopping there...is it worth me driving 10 miles to get there? My analysis below of only three items indicates to me that yes, it is worth it! And shows just how expensive Publix really is, as well as makes me NOT want to buy their groceries at regular price!! Walmart still costs more than Costco but they come pretty close with their sale prices. What do you think?



1. Arnold Bread:
Costco: $4.89/2 = $2.45
Publix: on SALE this week $6.00/2 – $3.00
Walmart: on sale this week $2.48

Each box of 8 costs $3.89 reg. or $1.95 on sale.
Walmart: on sale this week $2.50
$.29 savings for shopping at Costco vs Publix on SALE!
If you bought these 48 bars at Publix at REGULAR price it would cost you $23.34 (vs $9.99) which is $13.35 MORE than at Costco.

3. Gallon of Skim Milk:
Costco: $3.15
Publix: $4.20
Walmart: $3.76
$1.05 savings for shopping at Costco vs Publix.
